This page is the brainchild of our friend and long-time contributor, Pat Armitage. We have all noticed the road signs that either make no sense, contradict each other or are simply funny.  Most of us ride by, chuckling within our helmets.  Not Pat, he documents the contradictions to share with the rest of us.  When you seen these types of signs, feel free to send them our way.  You can e-mail them to me at rpeabody@sbcglobal.net. Please include a grief decription of what makes the signs absurd.  You don't hae to restrict your submissions to signage.  Send us the adsurdities you uncoer so that we can all share a laugh.  We hope you enjoy!
Location: Groesbeck South of 15 mile Rd.

We actually used taxpayer dollars for two of these signs. I have suggestions for others of similar utility. How about “Sunshine over road on clear day” or “Snow over road during snowstorm”

Location of the next six signs: Brighton Mi, Lee Rd, westbound approaching M23

This is the first sign you see approaching this Cluster F#!K intersection..
Then you see this one.
And then this.
And this.
Just as you think you have finally negotiated this disaster, there are two more!

The Oakland County Road commission issued permits for the builders of this shopping area to take out a perfectly functional intersection and replace it with this 5 Million Dollar (Estimated by Oakland Co Road Commission) Cluster F#!K. This intersection has three interconnected Roundabouts! These logistical nightmares are appearing all over Michigan. Millions are being spent to replace functional intersections with them while the roads themselves are crumbling. So far I have seen nothing is being spent to educate drivers where they exist or how to use them. You might be able to figure out how to use them but how about the average car driver? Could your Mom handle one? How about Grandma or Grandpa? Good luck if you find yourself in one with a confused driver or two.
Location: Farmington Hills MI. Westbound I-696 approaching the I-275 / I-96/ I-696 interchange.

This sign, one of two like it shows the left two lanes making a 90 degree turn South going to Lansing and the two right lanes going straight West to I-275. The left two lanes actually go straight West to Lansing, the right two lanes actually go 90 degrees South to I-275. WTF?

Location: M97 Groesbeck Highway north of 14 mile. At this point the road is a 7 lane wide, fully paved road. 6 lanes with a center left turn lane. But, the far right lanes are marked as "Shoulders" and signs prohibit driving on these paved lanes. So the taxpayers paid for 7 lanes but we can only use 5. Apparently, the government does not think there is enough traffic to justify using all of the paved lanes. Really? WTF!

Location: eastbound I-696 service drive just east of Groesbeck. A Self explanitory WTF?
